Bobcat Volleyball Update

The conference tournament is quickly approaching for the Texas State volleyball team. With only eight regular season matches remaining, the Bobcats are sitting in second place in the Southland behind undefeated UTSA.

The Bobcats, looking for a final conference title before moving to the WAC, defeated UT-Arlington, 3-1, last night for their Fight Against Breast Cancer match.

The team has tallied a 17-6 record, two wins shy of last year's win total of 19. If the Bobcats add to their eight-game winning streak and stay on their current pace, they could be establishing their highest win total since 2004's 27 wins.

The program is also closing in on their 1,000th win, which could happen as early as Nov. 1 against Baylor. The Bobcats Nov. 1 match will be the last for the team at Strahan and will feature seniors Amber Calhoun, Rachel Doyle and Lindy DeGeare. What a night it would be for them!

The Bobcats take the court Saturday, Oct, 22 against Central Arkansas, who sits one game behind the Bobcats in third place.
