Bobcat Volleyball Clinches Tournament Spot

The Texas State volleyball team clinched a spot in the Southland Conference tournament Saturday after a 3-1 win over Sam Houston State. The Bobcats won their 11th consecutive match to stay in second place in the conference.

Texas State has four games remaining in SLC play and one non-conference match against Baylor on Tuesday night. On Tuesday, the Bobcats will look for the program's 1,000th win, 737 coming from current head coach Karen Chisum.

The Bobcats need just one more conference win to earn (at the lowest) the second seed in the SLC Tournament, after beating Central Arkansas in their lone match of the season. The Bobcats will look to avenge their only conference loss to undefeated UTSA on Nov. 10 in San Antonio for a chance at an SLC Regular Season title.

The Bobcats are peaking at the right time of the season as they will look to end their last year in the Southland Conference at the top of the conference.
